We’ve heard of recruiters who won’t even consider applicants who fail to send follow-up interview messages.<br /><br />There’s no hard and fast rule regarding how soon to follow up – but in general, the sooner the better. The person with whom you interviewed may be making a hiring (or second interview) decision rather quickly, so you want to insure that he or she receives your message quickly. The same day is fine.<br /><br />If you decide to send a thank-you note rather than an email, factor in the “snail mail” time lag.<br /><br />And we don’t think you can ever seem too eager.
